DUMFRIES DIP and DASH
It was a busy weekend for local swimming club REN96, with 14 swimmers, coach Euan, Team managers, helpers and parents travelling all the way to Dumfries for an early morning start on Sunday 17th at the annual ‘Dumfries Dip and Dash’.
Dumfries Amateur Swimming Club were excellent hosts at their home pool - the local DG1 leisure complex - and it was a very successful meet for REN96, with the team setting 25 personal best times and taking 20 medals back home. REN96 were up against tough competition from Dumfries’s own swimmers along with swimmers from City of Glasgow, South Ayrshire, North Ayrshire and East Kilbride swim teams and Aquajets from Newcastle.
Team coach Euan said “Huge congratulations to all our swimmers who travelled down to Dumfries this weekend. All of the swimmers’ hard work since the summer break has been rewarded with plenty of Personal Best times and medals amongst our team. Special thanks to the parent Team managers who were there today and helped me greatly in organising our team. Also a huge thanks to all parent volunteers who helped with timekeeping, judging and marshalling, these meets don’t run without your help! To all the swimmers - thank you for a fantastic meet, I hope to see you all continuing the hard work in the coming weeks!”
