The Scottish National & Open Age Group Swimming Championships (SNAGS) is always one of the highlights of the Scottish swimming calendar every year and this year was no exception. REN96’s success continues but this time outside the water, with the club’s Rob Barratt qualifying as an Aquatics GB Swimming Referee. The referee is the most senior swimming technical official (STO) at competitions and is responsible for ensuring the competition rules are adhered to and that the competition runs smoothly and correctly. Despite much of Scotland suffering under Storm Éowyn sunny skies welcomed swimmers to Aberdeen for the 2025 Scottish Schools Swimming Association Championship finals. REN96 - Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire’s largest swim club - were well represented in the finals and on the podium, with 29 swimmers from the team’s Senior Performance, Age Group, Development and Skills squads competing to become Scottish Schools Champions. It’s been a busy, successful start to 2025 for REN96’s swimmers, across all age groups. With around 260 members, REN96 is Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire’s largest swimming club and has squads spread across all ages, from the youngest Foundation squad to the not so young Masters squad!
