SCOTTISH SCHOOLS FINALS 2025
Despite much of Scotland suffering under Storm Éowyn sunny skies welcomed swimmers to Aberdeen for the 2025 Scottish Schools Swimming Association Championship finals. REN96 - Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire’s largest swim club - were well represented in the finals and on the podium, with 29 swimmers from the team’s Senior Performance, Age Group, Development and Skills squads competing to become Scottish Schools Champions.
REN96 has swimmers from schools in Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire, Ayrshire and Glasgow and the Championship finalists put in strong performances, in what, for some, was their first time competing in a 50m pool. Reaching the finals of the 50m events were Elise, Hamish, Rhea, Eryn, Josh and Laurie. Alongside medalists Josh and Laurie in the 50m events, Charlotte, Rhys and Tom put in great performances to win medals in the 100m and 200m events. Big congratulations go to Tom who took gold to become Scottish Schools Champion in the 200m freestyle.
Well done to all swimmers competing - for some it was their first National Event and first time in a 50m pool. Although this was a schools competition, REN96’s coaches Ross, Calum and Heather were there giving support, encouragement and advice throughout the day. The swimmers would like to thank the coaches and the club technical officials and parents who made the challenging journey to Aberdeen to support them.
