REN96 swimmers’ hard work since August has clearly paid off as the club’s squad swimmers excelled at the first weekend of the West District Short Course Championship at Glasgow’s Tollcross pool. Saturday 21st October saw 20 of REN96’s younger swimmers head to Tollcross to compete in 73 events, achieving 47 Personal Best (PB) times. Back nearer home, 12 REN96 swimmers were also in action having been selected at the end of a successful 2022/23 season for Scottish Swimming’s Junior, Senior and Youth Academies, which are part of its prestigious National and Regional Development programmes. It was a busy weekend for local swimming club REN96, with 14 swimmers, coach Euan, Team managers, helpers and parents travelling all the way to Dumfries for an early morning start on Sunday 17th at the annual ‘Dumfries Dip and Dash’.
