SOUTH AYRSHIRE SWIMMING TEAM SUE MCCLURE MEET
It is not often that almost the whole swim team records at least one personal best time (PB) at a meet, but that is what happened with REN96 recently, when 28 out of the 29 REN96 swimmers competing at the South Ayrshire swim team’s ‘Sue McClure’ event achieved at least one PB. The whole team looked on top form throughout the day and their results shone through as they won 5 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 7 bronze medals. Just as impressive was that the team amassed 12 ‘Too Fast’ times over the day with those swimmers coming away with a cool looking wrist band.
It was also good to see that the success was spread across the whole club, from 9 year old Poppy and 10 year olds Roan & Summer winning medals to 18yr old Nuur making it a perfect 3 out of 3 ‘too fasts, all also PBs. The whole team’s behaviour, attitude and performances were a credit to REN96 and showed what a good job the coaching team, volunteers and parents are doing across the whole club.
Performances like this wouldn’t be possible without the work and support of coaches and volunteers and the swimmers give big thanks to Adam & Alan for coaching all day and for the excellent Team Managers Lesley, Angela and Martin who kept the team going throughout the long, hot day.
