Six of Stowmarket Masters swimmers swam at Newmarket against strong opposition from all over the country. Olivia Curtin was our only winner winning gold in her 30-34 years 50 metres butterfly in a superb time of 34.24. The best performances of the day were from Clive Mitson who put in four excellent swims three of them the best for a few years. Clive came 2 ^nd in the 55-59 years 100m back, 3 ^rd in both the 200m front crawl and 100m IM and was 9 ^th in the 50m front crawl. Ollie Hale put in three speedy swims coming 2 ^nd in both the 25-29 years front crawl and 100m backstroke and 3 ^rd in his 200m front crawl. Ollie Bumstead was 2 ^nd in the 40-44 years 400m front crawl & 3 ^rd in the 100m front crawl also with two great times. Glen Harrison put in 3 swift swims coming 6 ^th in the 45-49 years 50m breast, 9 ^th 100m breast and 11 ^th in the 50m front crawl. Andy Wright was 2 ^nd in both the 400 freestyle and 50m backstroke, third in the 50m breast, 100m breast and 100m back. Having a pec muscle strain Andy swam the 400m as a backstroke swim and has the slowest 400m time in the 65-69 years age group 400m National Rankings.
