Three Stowmarket swimmers competed in the Alton Water races on Sunday in very cold and windy conditions. All three did exceptionally well. Kim Lynch came 1 ^st in the ladies 65-69 years one mile swim and 10 ^th overall out of 86 swimmers in a time of 33minutes 54 seconds. Peter Lynch was 2 ^nd in the men's 60-64 years two mile race and 14 ^th overall in a time of 1 hour, 9 minutes and 8 seconds, whilst Andy Wright was  2 ^nd in the 2 mile race coming 25 ^th overall. There were 57 swimmers in the 2 mile distance most of them very much younger than Peter and Wiggy
