Dawlish Firecracker 2021

This weekend saw Brixham swimmers competing in a range of events across two days at the Plymouth Lifecentre. The Dawlish Firecracker is a very popular gala, with clubs taking part from across the South West.

We had a range of swimmers representing Brixham - some competing in their first gala at Plymouth and others who were looking to achieve Devon qualifying times. What they all had in common was their determination, resilience and team-spirit! There were some outstanding swims on both days: oodles of PBs, plenty of medals and some very well-deserved county qualifying times. As in all galas, there were also some swims that may have ended in disappointment but we know that the swimmers will use this as a motivation for training and they will all have learned something from it. 

A huge thank you to the parents for supporting your children at this event, to the volunteers who gave up their time to support the swimmers on the day (both as officials and as poolside helpers) and a huge WELL DONE to our super swimmers. We can't wait until the next one!
