Two Counties 2026 - Best in The West - We need you!!!

Thank you to those that came forward to help us host the County event on Sunday at Bodmin, we just about had enough! We think we did really well with music and atmosphere and oragnisation. Thank you everyone. 

Howver, this time we need everyone to get involved please......

As you know over the weekend of Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th March 2026 Caradon Swimming Club will be hosting for the first time 'Best in The West' known as the Two Counties Spring Open Meet at the Plymouth Life Centre for its 8th year!! We have 54 swimmers attending!!

We are hoping that this gala will be another huge success again not only for the attending swimmers but as a fantastic fundraising adventure for our club, which helps us financially throughout the year.

Now please keep reading.... your help really is needed!!!

We are looking for Volunteers...... we can not run the event without the FULL support of our club, we have 15 roles to fill for each session,  which doesnt include our team managers, coaches or officials!!!

So who will be willing to help us out??? for any of the sessions, any day or both if possible. Roles will be discussed and allocated nearer the time we just need your willingness at the moment, please email Sue Bain on [email protected] as a volunteer or Alex on [email protected]. If there is a role you would like to do, also mention this.

You will not have to take on any complicated task, there will be some tasks that many of you will be familiar with when we talk about marshalls for warm up, swim downs and line up but in addition to this we will need helpers to hand out water, food, be general runners, hand out medals, post up results, raffle etc, etc. YOU will be fully supported. So please drop Sue or Alex a message and let them know you can help!

And our final plea at this time is for you to consider whether you, or anyone or any business you know would wish to:-

  • Sponsor a hot heat (hot heats are where prizes are given out to the winner of random heat but may not necessarily be the winner of the age so giving lots of opporunity to all) We are hoping to run 20 hot heats over the weekend for swimmers - the sponsorship is £100. The sponsor will be widely advertised and shared on all social media platforms. In the lead up to the meet and again after, announced at the event and any literature supplied can be used at the event itself. Please email Alex i[email protected] or Paul [email protected] if you are able to help.

  • Donate a prize/s towards the raffle where we will sell tickets prior to and at the the event. We are planning on putting together a variety of hampers together and as such in need of donations please. These can be handed to any committee member or message me to arrange collection, thank you

    • Vouchers, Passes, Tickets 

    • Cornish Items for our 'Best in the West' Hamper

    • Easter Eggs, Bags of sweeties, easter cakes/treats, chocolates (within date) or any easter related items decorations, cards etc 

    • Any chocolates, biscuits, sweet treats

    • Wine, Fizz, Beer, Gin for Hampers

    • Toiletry or Pamper items 

    • Any unwanted gifts that we can use..... 

  • Finally, Sell, sell, sell the raffle tickets once issued to you to your family and friends.
