Over 300 swimmers from across Devon attended the Developments at Plymouth Life Centre. The Developments included the 100m, 200m, 400m and 1500m events. We had 6 swimmers competing at the developments and we achieved: + 8 first place finishes + 8 second place + 2 third place
Over 300 swimmers from across Devon attended the 50m sprints, with ourselves being one of the smaller clubs. We had 10 swimmers representing the club, every swimmer had to complete in the four 50m events (Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly and Freestyle). we achieved: + 2 first place finishes + 2 second place + 7 third place Many swimmers achieved some large PBs, some by as much as 10 seconds!
In March, Sara and Darren travelled to Bodmin to compete in the Cornish Masters. They both won three Golds each.
Hi all, The Devon Developments and Devon Sprints meets are now available to enter via the club website. The meets will be held at the Life Centre in Plymouth over Sat 8th, Sun 9th (Sprints) and Sat 15th and Sun 16th June. As these are development events the entry time criteria is "not faster than" those published in the grid on the entry page. The Sprints event is 50m in all four strokes. Members of Crediton and District Swimming Club have been busy competing at Masters swimming events over the past few weeks. Sara, Chelsea, Rianna and Stu competed at The Royal Navy Masters meet, which was held in February at Millfield School. This is always a good meet, with Stu achieving four Masters Personal Best’s, Chelsea and Rianna achieving two seasonal best’s and Sara winning two Bronzes.
This well attended event was held in the Boniface Centre in the evening on Saturday 26th January. Swimmers, Parents and Officials were welcomed by Club President, Peter Brewer who explained that the Chairman Paul Saunders was away on business and sent his good wishes to everyone. The age group trophies were then awarded by Coach Jane Brimacombe and Development Coach Rob Brimacombe. In all 25 Trophies had been won for 1st, 2nd and 3rd which included a Medal with other swimmers in the championships receiving a medal. During the Championships...
After a break of several years Tesco once again allowed the Club to have another Bag Packing session at their Crediton store courtesy of their Community Champion Ben Collier. Many Club Members and Parents supported the event and the public were very generous in contributing to the Club – a total of £456.85 was raised on the day and in addition there was good publicity for our Club which will be 25 years old in 2024. A cheque presentation was held following a “Swim the Channel” event organised by Crediton and District Swimming Club. It took place on July 6 at the Crediton Swimming Pool at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre. A total of 40 club members swam a total of 40 miles during the two-hour club session and were invited to seek sponsorship towards the RNLI. As a result the total raised for this important charity was £750. Former Crediton club swimmer Laura Brooks, now a volunteer with the RNLI at Plymouth, received the cheque on...
