Mini Meet - Fundraising for Matthew

As you will all be aware IASC are hosting their first ever Mini Meet on Saturday 26th October 2024. We are delighted that this meet is being sponsored by Orion Group. Not only will there be Hot Heats but also Age Group Trophies so there is a lot at stake on the day!!  

As many of you will be aware Matthew McCreadie has been representing IASC and Masters as well as Team GB over the last few years. Earlier in the year he represented GB at the 11th World Down Syndrome Swimming and Artistic Championships which took place in Antalya, Turkey as well as being one of 4 Scottish Swimmers that were selected to be part of the team at the European Championships held in Padova, Italy in September 2023. Matthew has also represented IASC at the British Down Syndrome Swimming Championships which are held yearly in November.

These are massive achievements but there are also substantial financial costs to his family to enable him to take part in these prestigious events. Matthew is representing IASC in November this year at the British Down Syndrome Swimming Championships. The club have arranged for him to have an IASC coach to be present and support him throughout the competition. As a club, we would also like to show further support to the family to assist them with the travel and accommodation costs needed to attend. The committee has unanimously agreed that on the day of the Mini Meet all Fundraising will be donated to the family to help them with this. We hope that everyone will show their support in this and we would be delighted if anyone can volunteer to help with the fundraising whether it is with ideas or helping on the day.  If anyone would like to help or can give us any feedback please feel free to email the General Secretary or Chair email.
