Laois Marlins is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit club that relies heavily on the support of our parents and members.
 
Our volunteer committee, elected at our Annual General Meeting, manages the day-to-day operations of the club. We are always seeking volunteers to help us continue our work.

The Chairperson oversees the running of the club and is responsible for the overall management and direction of Laois Marlins. They ensure the club complies with Swim Ireland regulations, chair meetings, develop strategic plans, and represent the club externally. They foster effective communication, delegate tasks, and uphold the club's commitment to safeguarding young people.

The Club Secretary is the administrative backbone of the club, ensuring the smooth operation of all its aspects. They manage club correspondence, organize meetings, maintain records, and liaise with Swim Ireland. As the primary contact, they handle inquiries, oversee insurance, and facilitate succession planning. Their role is crucial for the club's efficient running.

The club treasurer plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial elements of the club. As a not-for-profit club, the treasurer is responsible for billing, budgeting and all financial aspects of the club. 

 

HEAD COACH: Padraic Dolan

The head coach is responsible for both the day-to-day coaching of squads as well as the overall coaching philosophy and programme of the club. They oversee long-term coaching plans and provide input into the coaching of all squads. 

 

GALA SECRETARY: Judith O’Connor

The gala secretary supports the administration of our gala entries and is also responsible for the organisation of our home gala. 

 

CHILD PROTECTION OFFICER: Anna Grimes

The club children's officers (CCOs) are the link between Children and adults. They are there to ensure every child has a voice and feels safe within the club. They act independently from the administrative committee and are responsible for the promotion and monitoring of Child welfare policies in the club.

 

MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY: Enda Bohan

The membership secretary is responsible for ensuring our Swim Ireland membership is up to date and, working closely with the club secretary, to ensure membership forms, handbooks, and codes of conduct are kept up to date. They are responsible for maintaining membership files and ensuring affiliations and payments are up to date

 

EDUCATION OFFICER: Sean Smyth

The education officer is responsible for maintaining a training database for all coaches, committee members, and volunteers in the club. They ensure that safeguarding, training, and licensing requirements are met and maintained by all club members holding a role in the club

 

PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICERS: Liang Feng

The PRO is responsible for communication about club matters on our website, social media, and webpages. 

 

CLUB DEVELOPMENT OFFICER: Brian Bonham
