SwimMark Club

Sir Jack Petchey CBE founded the Jack Petchey Foundation in 1999 to recognise the positive contributions young people make to society and assist them in achieving their potential. The foundation supports programmes and projects that benefit young people aged 11-25 in London and Essex and have invested over £110 million in such schemes.  

The Achievement Awards is a peer recognition scheme operating in grass roots youth clubs, youth organisations, secondary schools and uniformed organisations.  There are currently over 2,000 schemes running.  Award winners receive a certificate and pin badge and are invited to attend a Jack Petchey ceremony to be presented with a medallion in front of their families and friends.They will also be able to choose, from a wish list, how best to spend a £300 award to benefit the whole club.

Leader Award - Ann Bijnens Ann is one of our official's she attends galas and competitions in her free time or when her swimmers are racing making sure that we follow the right license to be able to make the galas we attend licensed meets. Ann has trained many other parent volunteers to be officials to be able to grow our volunteer base and be able to support our local region and county at events, She also helps to organise our club champs each year allowing hundreds of club members to take part.

Sophie Dearsley - Sophie is a hard worker and a motivator of her squad. Her confidence has grown massively and she gives 110% all the time. She is supportive of her team and caring of those around her.
 
Bulcsu Bertalan - Bulcsu on recently joined our swimming club in May. When he was younger he wasn't a fan of swimming. As he got older he tried to get back into swimming but didn't think that it would be a successful as it has been. Bulcsu since joining Greenwich has gone through 4 squad promotions which is amazing! Bulcsu is dedicated and super focused he takes on his teachers feedback from sessions then will ask his parents to take him swimming in the week so he can work on these improvements himself. Bulcsu listens to all instructions and try's his best in all aspects of swimming especially overcoming new strokes and drills as he has moved up through he squad. Bulcsu is an inspiration to other swimmers.
 
Maria-Lidia Lvova - Maria is a hard worker, focused and caring person. Maria is well respected by her peers and she supports all swimmers at competitions and in training. From cheering them on in races to sharing tips to making new swimmers feel welcome. Maria does well to balance a busy schedule and still gives all her focus on her swimming when she is here. She works well with all coaches and takes an active approach to any feedback given.

Sara Maneva - She is always smiling and positive, motivating the people around her constantly. Sara is a big part of the reasons why I enjoy training so much.
 
Ben Negus - He has worked hard to improve and often in training, will opt to focus on his weaknesses rather than what he is good at. This has lead to improvements across all strokes and events.
 
Lizzie Sanders - Lizzie is always nice and friendly. She is motivating during training and at competitions.
 
Alexis Johnson - Alexis has been working as a Young Aquatic Helper for some time now. She is very dedicated to supporting a swimmer's needs and making sure that they feel complimented within their sessions. Alexis will go out of her way to make sure she can support not only the swimmers but the club as a whole including the teaching team.
 
Helena Eliasson - Helena started as a swimmer with the club and has been volunteering assisting as a level 1 and just in the process of completing her level 2. Helena will happily support across all sessions for the club wherever needed - a real team player.
 
Aaron Chen - Aaron always tries his best and motivates others.
