SwimMark Club

The aim of the Masters squad is to provide swimming for adults (18 years or older*) whether they wish to train for competitions or wish to keep fit within a friendly but disciplined environment.

We cater for all ages and abilities, although members must be able to swim front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke competently and be able to swim for the duration of a session. Swimmers must also be prepared to attempt butterfly from time to time.

Some of our Masters regularly take part in competitive events, up to and including international events, while others swim regularly to keep themselves fit.  We also have some open water swimmers and triathletes who wish to maintain their water fitness.

We have six coached sessions a week (lasting between 60 and 90 minutes) during which our coaches use a variety of drills and techniques designed to improve your swimming. More information of when and where the sessions take place can be found here and members can choose to attend any number of these.

*For those who wish to swim competitively you can swim in Masters competitions once you are 18 years old but you will be classed as a 'Senior' until you reach 25 years old. (FINA rules define a Master swimmer as 25 years and above but in England a decision was taken not to exclude swimmers between the ages of 18 and 25, allowing them to compete in the 'Senior' age group category).

If you are interested in joining our Masters squad please contact us for a trial.
