This weekend Northampton Swimming Club Masters athletes have been in action at the Aquatics GB Masters Championships in Swansea Victoria Reading has broken multiple British and European Record winning 5 (Five) Gold medals! Ellen McDonald has dominated the middle distance and distance freestyle events winning 3 gold medals in the 400, 800 and 1500 Freestyle events. Michael Hawkins has won his first ever national medals in the 100m and 200m Backstroke winning 2 silver medals showing that with hard work and dedication you can achieve your own individual goals. We are pleased to announce that 4 NSC athletes have been selected to represent Great Britain at the forthcoming World Paraswimming European Championships in Madeira from 21st to 27th April 2024. The meet pack for the 2024 Summer Festival is now availble to download (Click Here) This year wwimmers who have qualified for the British Summer Championships will be able to use this event as a time trail (however they will not be able to collect any awards)
Congratulations to Coach Sharp on being named the 2023 British Swimming Coaches Association Para Coach of the year. Andy was presented with his award at this weekends Winter Festival by BSCA chairman Glenn Smith.
Emilia Cieszczyk, from P1 squad, claimed bronze in 200 Backstroke, at the Polish Short Course Winter Championships in a personal best time of 2:17.24! A fantastic swim Emilia, well done
To celebrate the success that Maisie Summers-Newton had with Team England at the 2022 Commonwealth Games a plaque has been installed at Moulton Leisure Centre. Maisie won a gold medal in the SB6 100m Breaststroke last year in Birmingham and isis hoping to inspire the next generation of swimmers in Northampton to achieve their goals.
Congratulations to Maisie Summers-Newton and Scarlett Humphrey who have been selected to represent Great Britain at the 2023 World Paraswimming Championships in Manchester. Saturday 18th March 2023 saw the inaugural NSC Future Stars meet take place at the Waendel Centre in Wellingborough. This event was the first development gala style meet we have been able to host since the return from covid. Swimmers from a range of squads including the teaching programme took part competing in distances from 25m to 50m.
