East Midlands Masters Championship Report On Sunday 18th December 2022 seven NSC masters swimmers raced at the new 50m pool at Moorways in Derby for the Midland masters event. The team came away with 10 medals and there were some stella performances across the board. Great team spirit shown by all and it was a great end to a successful season. Before session 1 of the Northampton Swimming Club Winter Festival this morning there was a special presentation. Long standing club President Ian Pragnell has handed over the reigns to Terry Bream. Ian presented the Presidents chain before the first event to a round of applause from everyone poolside. We know that we will be in good hands with Terry as President as he has many years of experience both swimming and officiating. Thank You to Ian for all your years of service to the club

For those of you that subscribe to Netflix you might have seen a new film that has been released recently titled ‘The Swimmers’. The film stars NSC Performance 1 athlete Chloe Goodridge who appeared as a swimming body double. The film is based on a true story of two sisters Yusra and Sara Mardin. The pair fled the Syrian civil war in 2015 and helped save the lives of fellow refugees. One year later in 2016 Yusra competed for the International Refugee team at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. This is the last competition of the first cycle of work of the 2022-2023 season. We are pleased to announce that Jackson O’Rourke will be joining Team NSC as our new full-time coach. Jackson is a former competitive swimmer who has raced at an international level representing Great Britain at the European Junior Open Water Championships in 2019. He has won numerous national medals and titles in both pool and open water swimming.
