PLEASE READ THE BELOW INFORMATION CAREFULLY BEFORE ENQUIRING ABOUT TRIAL
Entry standard requirements for Nemo squad (ages 6 - 9yrs):
- Ability to complete 25m comfortably on frontcrawl, with correct breathing to the side
- Having a legal breaststroke kick
- Ability to swim multiple 25m swims (with rest) on backstroke, breaststroke and dolphin kick
- Completing forward somersaults in the water
The two main stumbling blocks are the f/c swim with breathing and the breaststroke kick.
- Fill in the online form in order to request a trial - please include in the comments box; swimmers date of birth, current swimming ability level (e.g stage reached within a swim scheme) and location (Bury St Edmunds or Haverhill area) OR if they are moving from another swimming club, please give an indication of pb times over a variety of events. This will be directed to the club coaches and will give them an idea of the current level of the swimmer
- The Head Coach (Dan Pilbrow - h[email protected]) will offer the parent a trial date.
- On the initial trial date (week 1), a decision will be made whether the swimmer is at the required standard to join the club and will be assigned to a training group
- Swimmer will be invited for two further trials - weeks 2 and 3
- Parents, please fill out the WSSC Trial form which can be found HERE and return to the Membership Officer (Ailsa Brown) on [email protected]
- Following week 2, the WSSC Membership Officer will email a membership pack with a specific WSSC ID and standing order form, that will need to be completed and taken to the bank to set up the monthly squad payment
- Week 3 - the Head Coach (Dan Pilbrow) will give a brief presentation to any Nemo squad parents, either during the 3rd session OR via ZOOM over that weekend. If in person, we can take the joining fee & Swim England (SE) fee via a PayPal card machine
- The coaches will inform the Membership Officer that the swimmer is fully signed up and that they will commence membership, with payment starting from the 1st of the following month
- No swimmers will be allowed to complete a trial, without having first filled in the online form OR until the joining fee and SE fees have been received
