As an ex-competitive swimmer, I thrive being on poolside and as a part of a club environment. Since stepping away from competing myself, I have always been involved in both teaching and coaching all levels and squads. My most successful achievement being having 4 swimmers selected for the county development pathway in 2024 and coaching many swimmers to County, Regional & National levels. My favourite part of coaching is seeing the hard work of training pay off on competition day and watching the swimmers celebrate their successes with their team mates and families. |

I’ve been part of the club since 2011, first as a competitive swimmer and now as a coach. Swimming has always been a huge part of my life, and stepping into coaching was the perfect way to stay connected to the sport and help others find the same passion for it.
I’ve coached across a range of squads and love seeing swimmers progress, grow in confidence, and enjoy being part of the team. A highlight for me has been seeing swimmers I’ve coached qualify for County and Regional events and continue to progress through the sport.
What I love most about coaching is the team atmosphere, seeing swimmers support and motivate each other is what makes coaching so fulfilling.

My name is Emma. I have been coaching for many years and work hard with the swimmers in reaching their full potential. Working on strong stroke work and ensuring they keep up with their fitness. After a few years away from coaching I know that swimming is where I am meant to be. I am excited to be rejoining the club. |

With over ten years’ experience coaching swimmers across Surrey and Sussex and a former competitive swimmer myself, I bring a strong technical focus and a passion for seeing athletes grow. I hold the Level 2 Swim Coaching Award, Level 2 Swim Teaching Award and the National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches.
I have coached swimmers at all levels from aspiring to be competitive, through to swimmers who have achieved success at County, Regional and National level.

I grew up swimming and competing from an early age and still train and compete in Masters competitions. I’ve never lost my love for swimming and I don’t think I ever will!
I’ve passed on my passion for swimming to my two children who compete within the club, having a shared enthusiasm has brought us closer as a family.
It’s great seeing swimmers develop through improving technique and skills, something I’m very keen on but the most fulfilment comes through seeing the swimmers thrive as a team, celebrating teammate’s achievements and forming bonds through hard-work and success.

Swimming has always been a huge part of my life it’s not just a sport, but a source of confidence, focus, and joy. Competing has taught me discipline, perseverance, and the importance of setting goals, while also giving me a sense of freedom and flow in the water that nothing else compares to.
Over time, I decided that I wanted to give back to the sport I love, to help others build the same confidence and enjoyment that the sport has given me. Observing the people you teach improve and develop brings satisfaction and a sense of achievement, overtime it is rewarding and it reminds me why I fell in love with swimming in the first place.

As a current swimmer in the club, I have a good understanding of what swimmers will find helpful and enjoyable, with my main aim being to make the club as welcoming as possible for all swimmers.
I greatly enjoy seeing the swimmers I coach improve and progress, especially when hearing their successes at recent competitions, with it being the most fulfilling part of coaching as I get to use my knowledge and experience to better others.
