ABOUT US

Our swimmers have competed at International level. They have represented and won medals for Great Britain and England at European and World Championships, Olympic and Commonwealth Games. Since 1980 we have achieved representation at every Olympic and Paralympics Games.

Barnet Copthall Swimming Club was established in 1978. Since our inception we have encouraged and developed swimmers to their maximum potential and achieved medal success at all levels of major competition up to Olympics Games.

The club has always strived to be the best and set the highest possible standards. We are one of the leading clubs in the United Kingdom and offer our swimmers unrivalled opportunities to develop their swimming skills to the highest levels in the sport.

As with many organisations it is important that we develop a plan that inspires young swimmers to participate in and enjoy one of the nation’s most popular sports in a safe, friendly and structured environment. Our game plan sets out our aims and future strategy for the development of the club.

We have clear aims and objectives, which are supported by an excellent coaching team, a first class training scheme and facilities.

Barnet Copthall Swimming Club is affiliated to Swim London Region. The Club affairs are conducted in accordance with the Laws and Technical Rules of Swim England.

GLL/Better operates and manages the Training Scheme. Rhys Gormley is responsible for all matters relating to the swimming development and the Management Committee is responsible for the governance of the swimming club. The Management Committee consists of Officers of the Club, Coaches, and other elected members

We work in close co-operation with a number of parties including local clubs schools, universities and the private sector. Our aim is to strengthen these relationships to offer long-term development opportunities for our swimmers.

As one of the leading Clubs in the UK we have achieved success at every level. Our swimmers regularly win medals at County, District and National Competitions.
