AIMS
The aim of the scheme/club is to create an environment where all swimmers, both young and old, can enjoy, participate, train and compete in swimming disciplines, in surroundings where they can develop friendship, sportsmanship, responsibility, dedication and self discipline.
The club is fortunate to be supported by GLL/Better, who operate the training scheme on behalf of the London Borough of Barnet. GLL/Better provide the club with excellent facilities and a coaching team second to none.
Barnet Copthall has adopted the Swim England Vision for Swimming and in conjunction with Better provides:
- A Learn to Swim programme - operated by GLL/Better
- Opportunities for everyone to train and participate in all levels of swimming - operated by GLL/Better.
- Enable those with the ability and desire to achieve medal success at the highest level of swimming to compete - operated by Barnet Copthall Swimming Club.
A great many of our swimmers have and continue to represent their chosen countries at all major international championships. They have shown commitment and dedication that extends in life during and beyond their swimming careers.
