ROUTE: NON SWIMMER TO COMPETITIVE SWIMMER

Lesson Length Class Name Description
30 min Beginner (Duckling level) Develop water confidence including: enter and leave water safely, kicking on front and back, floating on front and back, confident with getting face and head wet.
30 min Improver 1 (S1, WS1) Water skills and basic strokes including: using arms and legs, swimming with face in the water, floating front and back, introduction to breaststroke and dolphin legs
30 min Improver 2 (S1-S4) Water skills and all 4 strokes including: basic breathing, introduction to diving. 
30 min Improver 3 (S5, WS5 25m-100m) Advanced water skills and stroke technique including: maintaining good technique over a length, breathing and advanced water skills and stroke technique including: more advanced stroke technique: co-ordinated breathing: introduction to competitive starts and turns, timing,  treading water, sculling, somersaults
30 min Improver 4 (S5,WS5 100m-200m) Advanced water skills an stroke technique including: more advanced stroke technique, co-ordinated breathing, introduction to competitive starts and turns.
1 hour 1+ times a week Development Squad Yellow then Black (200m plus) (Approx Age 7-10) Comprehensive technique development for all 4 competitive strokes including starts, turns and the laws of swimming.  Focus on technique with swimmers developing strength and stamina.
1 hour 2-3 times a week Senior Development Squad (Approx Age 7-9 200m plus))  Comprehensive technique development for all 4 competitive strokes including starts, turns and the laws of swimming.  Focus on technique with swimmers developing strength and stamina.  For swimmers wanting to move to competitive squads. Selected by coaches.
1 hour 1+ times a week Junior Club Yellow then Black 1-4 (For Ages 10-18 2000m plus)

Training sessions with more advanced stroke work and greater distances further developing strength, stamina and speed. Suitable for swimmers wanting to move to the competitive squads (selection by coaches) or for those wanting to swim for fitness and leisure.
