Highland Swim Team (HST) = 6 Clubs One Team. HST is a composite performance swimming team representing 6 clubs from the Scottish Highlands. HST is made up of swimmers from our 6 home clubs,Inverness Amateur Swimming Club, Nairn Amateur Swimming Club, Tain Amateur Swimming Club, Lochaber Leisure Centre Swim Team, Thurso Amateur Swim Club and Wick Amateur Swimming Club. HST provides a performance training environment for committed and talented swimmers with a positive attitute to train and compete together as a single composite team as well as train and complete with their home clubs.
Our Mission: To develop competative swimmers in a successfull composite team which strives for excellence and encourages hard work and a competative attitude from our swimmers
Our coaching team is led by our Head Coach, Lisa Houston who works with the Head Coaches within the 6 home clubs to identify and develop swimmers in each club who wish to follow a pathway to performance. As well as nurturing the swimmers onto the programme she also offers development to the coaches in each club to allow constistancy whilst the swimmers are training with their home clubs.
Lisa and her team are supported by an energetic committee who are made up from repesentatives from all 6 home clubs. The committee are responsible for ensuring the longevity of HST as well as voluteering at various events.
HST is committed to the athletes in the programme and supporting the home clubs.
