Matthew

Matthew heads off to Turkey at the start of the week and will be representing the Down Syndrome Swimming GB Team at the 11th World Down Syndrome Swimming and Artistic Championships which will take place in Antalya, Turkey from 19-26th March 2024. A state of the art facility was built which includes a 50m swimming pool (competition pool) and a separate 25m pool. Down Syndrome International Swimming Organisation are expecting a record number of countries & swimmers to participate in the event.

Matthew has previously represented Down Syndrome Swimming GB after being one of 4 Scottish Swimmers that were selected to be part of the team at the European Down Syndrome Championships which were held in Padova, Italy in September 2023.

He also represented one of HST Home clubs Inverness at his first British Down Syndrome Swimming Championships in Crawley in November 2022. He made podium in the British Championships 2023 achieving a 3rd place in 100m Fly.
