Team Bath AS to Host Para-Swimming Taster Session for Future Paralympic Prospects
Team Bath AS is preparing for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games by organising a complimentary para-swimming taster session in collaboration with Swim England's "Inspired to Try" campaign. This event is aimed at discovering future para-swimming talents and introducing them to the world of competitive para-swimming.
Scheduled for Saturday, June 1st at the Sports Training Village, University of Bath, the taster session welcomes physically and visually impaired young individuals aged 7 to 16. Participants will enjoy a one-hour coached pool session in the renowned 50m pool from the London 2012 Olympics.
The session will also include an information session on the 'Para Swimming Pathway' presented by Martin Lees, Swim England Para-Swimming Development Manager, and Kay Willcox, Team Bath AS Para Lead Coach. This event seeks to familiarise young athletes to the world of para-swimming and guide them towards a competitive swimming club environment.
1.00pm: Registration and welcome.
1.30pm - 2.30pm: 1-hour pool coached pool session.
2.45pm - 3.45pm: 'Para-Swimming Pathway' information session and Q&A presented by Martin Lees and Kay Willcox.
