Team Bath AS Swimmers Impress at Latest Competition
Team Bath AS swimmers delivered a strong performance at the recent Yeovil & District and Millfield SC Level 3 competition, securing multiple medals across various events. Held over the weekend, the meet provided athletes of all ages with an opportunity to put their training into practice and showcase their progress in a competitive setting.
The event saw exceptional performances, particularly from multi-event winners and emerging young talents excelling across different strokes and distances. Among the standout swimmers was 10-year-old Liv Lynch, who claimed an impressive haul of medals, claiming a medal for every race entered. Lynch secured five golds in the 100m Backstroke, 50m Butterfly, 100m Breaststroke, 100m Individual Medley (IM), and 50m Backstroke. She also took silver in the 100m Freestyle and bronze in both the 200IM, 50m Freestyle, and 50m Breaststroke.
Fellow 10-year-old Callum Le Roux also impressed, winning gold in the 100IM, 100m Freestyle, 200m Backstroke, and 50m Free. He added to his medal tally with silver in the 200m IM and 100m Backstroke, along with bronze in the 50m Backstroke—a fantastic all-around performance demonstrating his versatility across strokes and distances.
And at just 9-years of age, Ophelia Timbrell-Whittle, took silver in the 50m Backstroke.
Lydia Bulmer (15yr) and Liv Holding (17yr) also delivered outstanding performances. Lydia dominated the podium, winning five gold medals and two silvers, securing a medal in every event she entered. Liv was equally impressive, claiming gold in all four of her events. 16-year-old Maisie Babbage earned medals in every race, taking home two golds and five silvers.
All Team Bath AS swimmers based at Dragonfly Leisure competed with enthusiasm, gaining valuable race experience and delivering outstanding performances. Special congratulations go to Leighton Lamb (9yr), who claimed gold in the 100IM and silver in the 100m Freestyle, and William Osborn (10yr), who earned bronze in the 50m Breaststroke.
A special mention also goes to Aspire 2 swimmers Toby Edwards (10yr) and Leo Henman (12yr). Toby secured bronze in the 200m Backstroke, while Leo showcased his versatility with gold in the 100m Breaststroke, silver in the 200m Breaststroke, and bronze in the 50m Breaststroke.
It was particularly heartening to see medals staying within families (Bradfords and Yaus), with siblings achieving success together and supporting one another throughout the event.
This competition marked the final meet for Team Bath AS ahead of the Swim England South West Summer Championships 2025, which begin on April 26. Congratulations to all athletes who competed and contributed to a successful and memorable meet!
