Team Bath AS Athletes Compete Among the Best at Aquatics GB Championships 2025
London, April 2025 — Four Team Bath AS swimmers took centre stage this past week at the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships 2025, held at the iconic London Aquatics Centre. Leading the team with standout performances was para-swimmer Nancy Jubb, who delivered a series of impressive swims across the week-long showcase of elite British swimming.
Joining Nancy on the national stage were teammates Kate Baxter, Rue Fowler, and Harry Morgan-Hughes. All three embraced the challenge of racing at one of the UK’s most prestigious meets, gaining vital experience and demonstrating the progress of their hard work in training.
Jubb (S6) achieved a major milestone by qualifying for the B Final in both her events: the Women’s Multi-Class 50m Freestyle and 100m Freestyle. Nancy showed composure beyond her years, clocking season-best times in both heats and then again in finals.
In the 50m Freestyle, she stormed to a third-place finish in the B Final with a time of 37.30, earning 664 British Disability Points (BDP). Three days later, she returned to the pool for the 100m Freestyle B Final, where she once again rose to the occasion, lining up against Paralympic medallist Ellie Challis, and finishing in 2nd place with a new personal best of 1:20.56 and 647 BDP. A powerful close to an outstanding debut season with the club.
Kate, Rue, and Harry impressed throughout the competition, showcasing professionalism, focus, and race-day maturity. Their performances reflect the commitment and determination they've brought to their training all season.
Reflecting on the team's success, Head of Swimming Liam Willcox said:
“The Aquatics GB Championships are always a highlight of the year. It’s a chance to test ourselves against the best in the country, and I’m proud of the way Nancy, Rue, Harry, and Kate represented Team Bath AS. Their performances speak volumes about their dedication and growth.”
With the Aquatics GB Championships now behind them, Team Bath AS turns its focus to the upcoming Swim England South West Summer Championships 2025 — building on a strong foundation as the season gathers momentum.
Congratulations to the four swimmers, to Head of Swimming, Liam Willcox, and to Para Lead Coach, Kay Willcox.
