I’m Phil, and I’m a professional photographer based in Troon. My son Max, aged 12, swims in Youth Competition for SAST. He absolutely loves the discipline; the exercise and above all, the community. He has made many new friends from different parts of South Ayrshire, which without the club, he simply wouldn’t have been able to do. It has opened up opportunities for us all.
I realised that people wanted good photographs of their swimmers; they wanted something to cherish. A memento of their child’s progress and commitment in swimming. Taking an action shot in the pool is actually very difficult, as I’m sure you will agree. It’s challenging on a number of different levels, and totally different to taking static landscapes. Mobile phone cameras whilst good, just don’t cut it in the pool environment. This culminated in SwimPrint. My ability to take creative photographs mixed with my qualifications allowed me poolside. I like to focus on more than just the swim – to me its about the whole package. My images in that respect are different to others.
I was present at the Mini League last weekend, as well as our Mini Meet back in January, alongside some other internal meets.
You are now able to view the images I take online. They are watermarked thumbnails hosted on a secure server. If you want to see the shots you need to request a password. Email me at [email protected] and I will forward on the password. Once access has been granted you can select your image and enlarge it.
