Sutton & Cheam Swimming Club

Club Support

Like most clubs, Sutton & Cheam Swimming Club is run by a whole army of dedicated volunteers without whom we would not be able to operate and we would like to thank them here and now for their help and support. They are very much appreciated! Our volunteers are parents, grandparents, senior swimmers and even parents whose children have long since left the club!

We have a very hard-working, dedicated committee that runs the club but beyond that, there are people who help on the club desk, people who order the club kit and run this website. There are others that arrange all our fixtures and entries for open meets. There are others that help out at galas by announcing or selling raffle tickets. There are others who help raise funds for the club by arranging social events like the quiz nights, bag-packing and Award evening. All of these jobs and many more are done within the club by volunteers who give up their time freely so that the club can function. They also enable the club to keep its costs down, benefitting members.

As you can see, there are many different roles the club needs help with and we are always on the lookout for new volunteers. We never turn down a willing volunteer.

If you think you may be able to help out in any way; if you have particular skills you think may be helpful to us, or if you are not sure how you can help then please get into contact with us and we can have a chat regarding help. You can do as much or as little as you like. We recognise that it is far better to have a lot of volunteers doing a little, than too few volunteers becoming completely overworked so although your time may be limited.

We value our volunteers and the work they do, and we do our best to support and develop individuals that are keen to progress, by arranging appropriate training courses. For example in a club made up mainly of youngsters, we would as a matter of course ensure all volunteers who have any contact with young children are adequately trained in Safeguarding and are all DBS checked.

Any help you can give, however little, will make a difference.

We look forward to welcoming you to our team!

Here are some of the roles that we cover, Some do need volunteers and are highlighted to assist, others are already covered but more are always welcome, if you feel like you can help out please get into contact,
