Success at Surrey's!!

William Ward

The past few weeks have seen Sutton and Cheam Swimming Club achieve remarkable success at the highly anticipated Surrey County competition hosted at Surrey Sports Park. The club's exceptional talent were on full display as they proudly secured a total of 28 medals, including 12 gold, 9 silver, and 7 bronze, positioning them at an impressive 5th place overall in the medals table.

With all the swimmers who participated this year, Some swam for the very first time and some even gained medals for the first time. The club's success at the Surrey County competition was further attributed to the exceptional leadership and guidance provided by the coaching and management staff. As it was Head Coach Stuart Donald's inaugural Surrey competition with the club, his expertise and guidance played a pivotal role in the team's achievements. Additionally, the invaluable contributions of April, who experienced her first Surrey competition with the club - as Youth squad Coach. Also a thank you to Callum who became our team manager and helped on the poolside.

A highlight of the competition was Aidan Orpin, whose exceptional achievements in the pool earned him well-deserved recognition. Aidan's remarkable talent was celebrated as he was honored with Surrey County record certificates, marking an impressive tally of 5 short course records.

Sutton and Cheam Swimming Club extends heartfelt appreciation to Head Coach Stuart Donald, Coach April, and Team Manager Callum for their unwavering support and leadership, which have been pivotal in the club's outstanding performance at the Surrey County competition. We also want to thank all the parents for their Dedication in all of our swimmers, it's great to see everyone support one another and be a part of the community we have built.

As the club continues to celebrate its triumphs and set its sights on future endeavors, Congratulations to all the swimmers and the entire team on their remarkable achievements, and a special salute to Aidan Orpin for his outstanding accomplishments, which have brought honor and pride to the club.
