Brixham Marlin Swimmer Eva Bissett has been selected to represent Devon at this weekends National Inter-County Competion at Ponds Forge, Sheffield. This is recognition of all the hard work she has put into her backstroke over the last couple of years. Everyone at Brixham Marlins Swimming Club is extremely proud of her & wish her all the best for this coming weekend. Good luck Eva!!
Great effort from Brixham Marlins in Round 1 of Arena League held in Plymouth on October 8th. We came 4th in our gala scoring 160 points and beating Newton Abbot and Devonport. Overall, out of 27 teams in the combined Division 1 & 2, Brixham are 16th. Well done to all swimmers and thanks to coaches, officials and volunteers. Next round is in Bridgwater on November 12. Go Marlins!!
The Devon County Consideration times for 2023 are now available. Ages as at 31 December 2023 i.e. if your swimmer will be 11 during 2023 then you should check the 11 year old times for each event. Times must have been achieved at a licenced meet - so times from our club championships do not count. Check out the upcoming Plymouth Christmas meet if your swimmer needs to get faster times.
There will be no swim training from August 1st - August 14. Training for weeks commencing August 15 and 22 follow the attached Summer Timetable
Tonight, a team of Brixham Marlins descended on Clennon Valley to participate in the annual Scott Ormsby Gala. Brixham, Paignton and Newton Abbot competed to fight for the cup.Competition was strong and the stakes were high: Brixham Swimmomg Club hadn't won this cup since 1999. A hot and busy weekend for our 14yrs and under Regional Swimmers who travelled up to Millfield to participate in a variety of events over the weekend. Frankie participated in the 50m fly and 50m breaststroke getting good PB's in both events seeing him move up the rankings. Will swam the 50m fly on Saturday and then the 50m backstroke and 100m backstroke today getting PB's in both his backstroke events. Six Brixham Marlins competed at the Plymouth Long Course Regional Qualifier at the weekend. Well done to Scarlett,John, Aela, Will, James and Pippa who all brought home medals and personal best times. Competition was strong but once again BSC held their own against some of the best. We are thrilled to announce that we have 6 swimmers with Regional/Regional Consideration times and these swimmers will be competing in Millfield, Bristol and Plymouth in the next few weeks. On Saturday, Green Squad Brixham Marlin, Aela Farquharson travelled up the M5 to Millfield (home of the wealthy & elite) to practice her favourite event the 200m butterfly ahead of the SW Regional Championships. Ranked 4th in her age group Aela stormed home taking the silver medal and a new PB! Another fabulous success for the Brixham Marlins. Well done!!
