ONB County Championships 2024

ONB County Championships 2024 - Report from Jenny Roberts

Earlier this month 9 swimmers from Bourne End represented the club at the ONB County Championships at Aquavale in Aylesbury. For a lot of our swimmers, county championships are the highest level of competition that they will take part in, and they did themselves and the club proud!

There were personal bests galore and fantastic team spirit from all involved. We had 5 top-eight finishes, 4 finalists and 15 personal bests over the two weekends. A great effort from a small team!

Special mention to Oliver Rendall who qualified for 3 finals (50 Free, 100 Free and 100 Breast) and Hollie Roberts who qualified for the 50 Back final. The finals at county championships are quite an experience and something to aspire to for all our swimmers!

Thank you to Jenny Roberts, Kate Cooke, Jin Breed, Alicia Rendall and Karen Coffey for supporting our swimmers as coaches and team managers, and to Chris O’Connell, Helen Fisher and Keiran Millard who represented the club as officials.
