Scottish Swimming National Squads Selection Announcement

Fiona McCreadie

We are thrilled to announce the incredible achievements of four of our Sharks who have been selected for this year's Scottish Swimming National Squads!

Congratulations to Ethan who has been selected for the National Youth Academy for the second consecutive year! This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to Ethan's dedication and hard work.

Kudos to Rebecca, Amy R, and Charlotte for their selection to the National Junior Academy Squad. This is an outstanding accomplishment and reflects their commitment to excellence in swimming! 🥳

The Junior Academy programme is an initiative run by the Scottish Swimming Districts and the Scottish Swimming Performance Team and is an integral part of the National Team and Academy Programme. It provides an invaluable opportunity for both coaches and swimmers to develop a deeper understanding of key areas in competitive swimming. The programme is structured around two primary strands:

  1. Swimmer Development and Education: The programme supports the development of swimmers aged 11 to 14 who meet the criteria outlined in the National Selection Policy. It also involves all coaches working within various clubs, enhancing their educational journey alongside the swimmers.

  2. Coach Communication and Collaboration: The programme ensures a consistent flow of communication between coaches with varying levels of experience. This allows them to connect, share knowledge, and learn from one another.

In addition to these accolades, Ethan has also earned the honor of representing Team Scotland West at this year's Swim England National County Team Championships in Sheffield this October! .

It's truly inspiring to see all the hard work and perseverance paying off. Keep up the fantastic work, Sharks!
