Teaching swimming to underprivileged and disadvantaged children in Croydon

South Croydon Swimming Club SCSC

After the amazing fundraising efforts last Summer, South Croydon Swimming Club’s initiative to support underprivileged and disadvantaged children (aged 5-11) from schools in Croydon learn how to swim has welcomed the first two swimmers, with more due to start soon. They have been having lessons regularly for the past few weeks and have been enjoying learning their new skill.

Additional aims of the initiative include inspiring the children to learn how to swim as a life skill, enabling them to enjoy the water safely and making swimming more accessible to those who would not routinely swim.

We are so proud of our swimmers who raised the money to allow this initiative to happen. Amelia, who came up with the idea, said, “Swimming is fun and a life skill with lots of benefits. I’m really happy to see children learn to swim.”
