WSC 2025 Open Water Season is now open!
The 2025 Open Water season will begin in June to prepare swimmers for the Swim England East Region Open Water Championships. All swimmers at Watford Swimming Club are welcome to come down to Denham lake to have a go at open water swimming. Many swimmers then decide they want to compete at local, regional and national open water championships.
The lake charges £8 per person if you are a NOWCA member or £10 for non members and is paid on arrival.
Wetsuits are optional, if you own one then bring it along as it’ll enable you to swim longer.
Be aware that people swim at own their own risk. There are spotters, life savers and a rescue boat.
These sessions are designed to complement our existing training schedule and will not affect swimmers' performance or attendance within our main regular pool-based programme - the session dates are below:
Saturday 21st June
Saturday 5th July
We may look to run additional sessions TBC.

Important Update:
We are pleased to confirm that East Region Open Water entries are now open:

This year, we are aiming for a minimum of 15 entries across the club, and we would love to see strong representation from Watford SC at the event, which will take place in Norwich. James Cameron and Jeremy Irvine will be attending and, having had a brilliant experience last year, we can confidently say it is one of the most enjoyable meets of the season.
