Watford SC swimmers went up against the best swimmers in the East of England over three weekends spread between April and May. The Watford swimmers had a fantastic Championships with lots of new PB’s set, final qualifiers and nineteen medals won across the Championships! Plenty of time in the pool and gym was combined with some team building games when 26 members of Watford Swimming Club flew out to Lanzarote for their 2024 training camp. The team were put through their paces by the club’s experienced coaching team of Jamie, Tom and Alan , with swimmers training around 12 kilometres per day. Watford Swimming Club held our annual Regional Qualifier gala on the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd of March. Around 350 Swimmers from 15 different swimming clubs were all trying to secure their regional qualifying times. There were some great swims, and it was noted by a visiting senior referee from the East Region that the standard of swimming was very high. Our swimmers had a great night at round two of the National Arena Swimming League! There were some great individual swims, and Watford came third on the night, coming behind Camden Swiss Cottage and Basildon & Phoenix. Combined with our 4th place in round one, this puts us in great position for the final round. Well done to everyone who competed!
Watford Swimming Club had a great weekend at the Swim England East Region Winter Short Course Championships, held at Inspire Luton. We took a team of 19 swimmers, and saw lots of season's best and personal best swims. We also had a silver and bronze medal from Matt Aldred on the 100m and 200m Fly.
