FAQs - 2026 Membership Renewals
Why do we have an annual renewal process?
We are required by Swim England to confirm our membership each year prior to paying them our subscriptions.
It is the important information we supply to Swim England is accurate as it is required to ensure that our members are appropriately registered, so they are covered under the club insurance but is also essential to enable swimmers compete.
It is also an opportunity for us to remind members to check their data we hold is accurate and that they are aware of our latest policies and agreements.
What happens if I miss the deadline?
Please get in touch as soon as possible if you have missed the deadline and do wish to renew. Swimmers not registered by the deadline will have their memberships marked as lapsed, these swimmers will not be insured and therefore will be unable to train at any club sessions until we receive committment to continued membership of the club.

What does the membership fee cover?
There are 2 elements to the annual membership the club fee and the Swim England fee.
- Swim England fee is split into three parts, National, Regional and County fees. Fees are distributed to the County and Region by Swim England. The fee is used to support things such as delivering training and guidance to clubs, hosting events, providing insurance.
- Team Waveney Administration fees as a club we use the membership fee to cover our operational costs that relate to administration of the club such as the use of Sports Engine software
For full details on the membership payment see the club handbook
Will I get any of the membership payment back if I leave the club during the year?
Unfortunately, as this is a single annual charge no refund of the membership payment is available for anyone leaving the club after the initial renewal process has been completed.
My swimmer is currently a Club Train member do I have to pay for Club Compete?
The standard membership for Squad 1 and 2 swimmers is Club Compete this will allow them to enter the various competitions we attend throughout the year. Club train is reserved for swimmers who do not compete as part of the club and a small amount of swimmers with specific circumstances. If your swimmer joined late in the year we may have joined them as Club Train to minimise the initial sign up cost to yourselves however swimmers eligible to compete in Open competition will automatically be reassigned as a Club Compete member as part of the renewal. Please contact [email protected] for further information on this matter.
What should I do if I’m unable to pay my renewal fee by the deadline?
If you’re having difficulty making the payment on time, please contact the Treasurer ([email protected]) as soon as possible. We understand that circumstances vary, and the Treasurer can discuss available options to help you stay on track.
