If you have a concern about the safeguarding of any child or the behaviour of an adult towards any child you should, without delay, contact:

What if I need to contact someone in an emergency?
If you believe a child has been harmed or may be at immediate risk of harm, and you are unable to contact your welfare officer or the Swim England safeguarding team please make immediate contact with an appropriate agency, such as:
● The Police - Phone 999 if a crime is being committed or if a child is in immediate danger.
● The Police – 101 - Contact Leicestershire police on 101 if you think a crime has been committed but there is no immediate danger.
● Leicestershire’s First Response Children’s Duty Team – 0116 305 0005 (24hr phone line) - If you think a child is being: neglected; physically abused; sexually abused and your concern is urgent.
● Leicestershire County Council LADO (Local Authority Designated officer) - If you are concerned that someone in a position of trust has harmed a child or behaved in a way that indicates that they may be unsuitable to be in a position of trust, please contact the LADO to discuss your concerns promptly, before speaking to the person of concern -0116 305 4141 or [email protected]

In all instances, please take the name and contact details of the person spoken to, plus the incident / referral reference number (if applicable) so you have a record of the advice given.
