Safeguarding
The Club Children’s Officer is Niamh Moore. The role of the Children's Officer is clearly set out in the Swim Ireland Child Protection Guidelines and include the following,
- to promote awareness of necessary child welfare policies and procedures.
- to influence policy and practice within the club to prioritise childrens children's needs.
- to help establish a child centered ethos within the club.
- to advise on best practice in children's sport.
- to ensure election of Club Captain and liaise with same.
- to meet the management committee at least once per year.
The club has a Childrens Officer (CCO) who's advocates for a safe and friendly environment within the club and who is a visible and vocal contact point for members. The CCO also operates as the Designated Liason Person responsible for reporting and liaising with relevant Authorities should the need arise.
