Safeguarding

The Club Children’s Officer is Niamh Moore. The role of the Children's Officer is clearly set out in the Swim Ireland Child Protection Guidelines and include the following, 

  • to promote awareness of necessary child welfare policies and procedures.
  • to influence policy and practice within the club to prioritise childrens children's needs.
  • to help establish a child centered ethos within the club.
  • to advise on best practice in children's sport.
  • to ensure election of Club Captain and liaise with same.
  • to meet the management committee at least once per year.

The club has a Childrens Officer (CCO) who's advocates for a safe and friendly environment within the club and who is a visible and vocal contact point for members. The CCO also operates as the Designated Liason Person responsible for reporting and liaising with relevant Authorities should the need arise.

As an affliated club to Swim Ireland the Club follows and adheres to Swim Ireland Membership Risk Assessment Policy - Link HERE
