Spring Gala 2024
Orpington Ojays & Erith Spring Meet 2024 2nd and 3rd March.
Eighty-three swimmers headed to Crook Log Leisure Centre for our annual open gala with Erith & District Swimming Club. What a truly amazing weekend of racing they all had. We came away with a massive haul of a hundred and ten medals (36 Gold, 38 Silver and 36 Bronze) which could be the most the club has ever come away with and lots and lots of Pb’s too. Well done to everyone that took part and showed what a great club we are! It was fantastic to see lots of swimmers competing for the first time.
Our gold medallists were Carys, Lucas, Fotios, Elizaveta, Ellie G, Daisy, Hannah S, Maria, Mia, Emily B, Eliot, Andrey, Alex L, Tom B, Aaron, Emilia, Ela, Logan, George, Neve, Lauren. The most coveted prize was of course the rubber duck, well done to all our swimmers who managed to get their hands on one.
A big thank you to coaches Joe, Simon, Sam, Kirsten, and Su who worked hard over the weekend supporting all their swimmers. A big thank you to all our volunteers, without your help the gala wouldn’t have been the great success it was. And finally, congratulations to Eoin who completed his J2 Official and Andy Coote for his J1 Official qualification.
