On target to win Tudor League 2024
Well done to our Tudor League team last night at Beckenham Spa!
After a closely fought contest with Bexley just a couple of points behind us throughout the gala and Erith chasing in third place, Bexley took the lead towards the end. With a number of brilliant swims behind us going into the penultimate race (8 firsts and 14 second places), we took 2nd in the open freestyle relay just ahead of Bexley to narrow the gap to just 6 points. In the final squadron relay our race strategy paid off perfectly with 4 teams including Bexley time faulting and Orpington taking first and all 8 points to win our third gala out of 4. We now just have to finish 6th in the next round to win back the trophy after coming runners-up last year.
Also a big thank you and congratulations to Lauren and Tom who raced back from Tandridge after passing their level 2 swimming teacher qualifications that afternoon to help
seal the victory. Thank you also to our coaches, team managers and officials for making it all possible.
We are hosting next round on 18th May and will need officials and parent volunteers to help out in force.
