Tadpoles Summer Splash

New Addington was once again the venue for our first Tadpoles gala of the year on June 9th.  Fifty-six of our future stars took to the pool competing in all 4 strokes over 25m and 50m breaststroke, backstroke and freestyle.  They all had a fantastic time and showed their coach Cheryl and their parents that all their hard work in training is paying off, with some of the swimmers already selected for the league teams from this event.

Thank you to our squad swimmers, Aaron, Andrew, Carys, Chloe, Daisy, Ellie, Hayley, Isabel and Nola who came along to support and lead the fun relay events at the end. And of course, a huge thank you goes to our lovely officials that volunteered to come and take all the swimmers times.  The results are available to view on Tean Unify.

Tudor Cup

On Saturday 15th our team of thirty-five swimmers went to Beckenham Spa for the Tudor Cup. As usual the racing was fast and furious, and the volume was set to LOUD. We finished the night in second place just behind Bexley and added another trophy to the already bursting cabinet. Well done to Daisy and Andrew who competed in the Skins event, a fast and furious elimination event held over four rounds, with Daisy finishing second overall. A big thank you to all our officials and team managers who have volunteered since the start of the league way back in January.

Kent Junior League

St Johns Leisure Centre in Tunbridge Wells was the venue for round two of this years KJL on Saturday 22nd. Thirty-two of our youngest swimmers took to the pool against some very strong competition.  Our swimmers had a good night with lots of pb’s finishing the round in fifteenth place. We are currently fourteenth in the league which puts us in the B final in the last round on September 21st.

London Youth Games

Daisy from Top squad was selected to swim for London Borough of Bromley at the London Youth Games held at the LAC on Saturday 29th. Daisy competed in three events, winning Gold in the Girls 14U 50m Freestyle, Gold in the 4x50m Medley Relay, Silver in the 4x50m Freestyle relay and a Bronze as the girls team finished 3rd overall in the competition.

Swim England County Talent Pathway

Ellie from Platinum squad has been selected for the Kent County Pathway. This is the first step on the Swim England Talent Pathway for swimmers 12 years of age. 42 swimmers were selected based on the fastest 200m IM swimmers in Kent. The Pathway comprises of two camps the first on 15th September 2024 and the second will be in 2025. Congratulations Ellie!!

Alstonville Swim Club - Australia

In June, we were delighted to welcome two guest swimmers from Alstonville Swimming Club in Sydney, Australia. Amelia and Hugo joined Top squad for a few training sessions while visiting the country. They thoroughly enjoyed their sessions under Joe and Sam and we were more than happy to help them keep up their fitness whilst away from their own club - a fantastic cultural exchange highlighting the universal passion for swimming that transcends the globe.
