Tudor League Round Up
We are three rounds in to this year’s league and the team is doing very well, with two wins out of three. We are currently sitting top of the table with 22 gala points and a grand total of 857 points, 300 of which were earned in round three—a record points total for the league in a single round.
2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the league and to mark the occasion there are special trophies for swimmers who win an individual event, with a different age group each round. Congratulations to our winners so far – Alec (50m backstroke), Andrey (50m butterfly) Simon (50m breaststroke), Maria (50m butterfly) and Philip (50m breaststroke). Round four is on Saturday 12th April.
Ojays and EDSC Spring Meet 8th & 9th March
On the weekend of 8th and 9th March we held our annual open gala with Erith & District SC at Crook Log Leisure Centre. Eighty-five swimmers competed across four hundred and thirty eight individual events. And what a weekend they all had, there was hundreds of pb’s and a huge haul of medals. We came away with 56 golds, won by Aaron, Abi, Andrey, Andrew, Alec, Amelia, Ben, Carys, Ciar, Donir, Ela, Ellie, Emilie, Faith, Fotios, Hayley, James, Lauren, Logan, Lucas, Maria, Mia, Neve, Nola, Philip, and Shekinah, 56 silver and 32 bronze medals. A special mention goes to Donir and Lucas who both won seven gold medals.
It takes an army of volunteers to help run a gala and a big thank you must go to everyone who came and helped make the weekend a great success. The gala raises vital funds that go towards the running of the club.
Kent Junior League Round One
On Saturday 22nd March we took a team of our junior swimmers (13 & under) to the Tunbridge Wells for the first round of this years KJL. It was a tough night of racing for the team, who were up against some big clubs in the county, but they dug in and swam hard and finished the night in fifth position just one point off the fourth placed team. Notable mentions go to Alice age 11 50m breaststroke, Donir age 10 50m backstroke, and the girls age 11 50m freestyle and medley relay team of Alice, Hayley, Joilianne and Lisa who all secured wins for the team. Round two is on 21st June.
