Wavepower 2024: Child Safeguarding Policy and Procedures
Norwich Swan have adopted Swim England’s safeguarding policy and procedures document, Wavepower, which sets out Swim England’s commitment to create a culture in our sports and activities which makes everyone feel protected, included and welcomed.
Wavepower consistently emphasises that the responsibility for child safeguarding in our sport belongs with all those involved in our sports and is not the sole responsibility of any one person at local, county or national level.
Information about Wavepower can be found on Swim England’s webpage here and includes the latest version of the safeguarding policy and procedures document to download.
The webpage also includes a section dedicated to key information for swimmers parents which can be found here.

How can you raise a Safeguarding Concern
Report a Concern
Anyone who has a concern that a child or adult may be at risk of harm, or being harmed, should refer to Swim England's safeguarding team.
The team is staffed by individuals who are experienced in dealing with these concerns and have undergone specific training for those who have a designated role in safeguarding within sports.
Referring a concern can be done via our Club’s Welfare Officer or Swim England East Region's Regional Welfare Officer (contact details above).
Swim England also has a Coach Referral Protocol where concerns regarding coaching techniques can be raised.
Further details about how to report a concern can be found on Swim England’s webpage here.
