We have 4 levels to our teaching scheme in the Cygnet Pool and a 5th level in a 20/25m pool :
- White, (2) Yellow, (3) Orange, (4) Red, (5) Green
The Green level is based at either Bishop Wand School (Sunbury), Egham Orbit or Bishopsgate School (Englefield Green) with a 45 minute class helping swimmers transition from our teaching pool into a main pool environment, working on their ability to tread water when in deeper water and improving their stamina.
Swimmers will then be automatically transferred into our Main Pool swimming programme where there are opportunities to follow either a competitive swimming pathway or swimming for fitness.
Swim Teaching Team for 2025-26
Staines Swimming Club believe that the best swim teachers are those that have swum competitively themselves. We actively encourage our swimmers to take the route into teaching and coaching and pass on their experience to our younger swimmers.
- Holly is a Regional level open water swimmer and covers our group lessons on Mondays/Saturday afternoons as well as private lessons.
- Mia is a Regional level swimmer and covers our group lessons on Wednesdays/Saturday mornings as well as private lessons and our Green level on Mondays.
- Alfie is an ex-competitive Regional level swimmer and covers our group lessons on Fridays and our new Green level on Tuesdays.
- Ema is an ex-competitve swimmer and covers our group lessons on Tuesdays and Sunday afternoons.
- Charlotte is our newest qualified teacher, a National level swimmer and covers our group lessons on Thursdays.
We also have several pool helpers supporting : Rhiannon, Theo, Caitlin, Simon, Karolis, Viktoria, Tilly and Riley – these all come from either our senior swim programme or they used to swim for Staines competitively.
As a Club we pride ourselves on recruiting from within and providing our senior swimmers career opportunities to continue to grow and inspire the next generation of swimmers.
