Age Range: 7-10 years (at the discretion of the Swim School Manager. eg. with swimmers who have started lessons later)

Standard: Looking to introduce competitive swimming to those who want it - alternatively getting ready to progress into the Swim for Fitness pathway.

Attendance: Swimmers should be aiming to attend a minimum of 2 out of 3 sessions per week.

Behaviour: Bring a positive attitude to training and competing; behave in a manner that reflects well on our Club.

Expectations: Respect coaches and poolside helpers; follow the Club's code of conduct and be an example to the Club's younger swimmers.

Competition Attendance: Attend all Club Mini Meets and one external Meet (as advised by your coach).

Aims & Objectives: development & acquisition of skill to enhance the strokes already learned in lessons, learning fundamental movement literacy.  Instructors will teach ‘perfect practice’ and stroke efficiency. Swimmers will develop agility, balance, co-ordination, speed and power. Streamlining, gliding, basic ASA tumble and touch turns.  Poolside diving and jumps.  Swimmers will be able to progress along any of the clubs pathways; Fitness, Competitive or Performance. Emphasis on fun learning alongside a gentle introduction into club and fun galas.

Progression: Skill development: 25m on all four strokes progressing to ASA legal standards.  Proficient tumble turns & touch turns, poolside dives and streamlining.  The progressive aim is for these skills to become automatic, ie. the swimmer doesn’t have to think or be told to perform correctly.

Training Equipment Required : Swimmers will need to bring a drink to every session (1 litre minimum) as well as a kickboard, pullbuoy and training fins, well fitted goggles plus a spare pair and a swim hat.

Monthly Fee: £79.00 (£50 SSC Annual Membership Subscription is due every January this includes ASA fees and registration. Our monthly fees are inclusive of the 2 week Summer closure, Christmas holiday break and Bank Holiday closures).
