Congratulations to all our swimmers who swam at the Novice gala at Crown Pools at the weekend. A few of the older ones had swam the evening before in the League at Newmarket and many were swimming at a swimming meet for the first time, you all swam so well, we are proud of you all. Well done to all the swimmers who swam at out No Frills Meet. Many clubs visiting us for the first time, it was great to see lots of new faces. It was amazing to see so many personal best times smashed! Check out our beautifully decorated Christmas tree at St Peter & Mary's Church, Stowmarket. The donkeys were coloured in by some of our youngest swimmers. Stowmarket Swimming Club has received a generous donation from Cedars Park Community Centre from fundraising at their Christmas Fair. presented by Janine Griffiths to Jess Long, who runs the Stowmarket Swimming Club SEN Group, with Bobbie Wilson, President and Sylvia Harrison, Head Coach. This donation goes to the clubs SEN group which is run by a dedicated group of volunteers, helping to provide high quality to swimming lessons to all. We would like to thank Janine and all those at Cedars Park Community Centre who helped to raise these funds.

Congratulations to all our Masters swimmers who swam at the National Masters Championships at Sheffield last weekend, many personal bests achieved. Huge congratulations to Wiggy for his 2 bronze medals in the 200 Back and 200 Fly!

Jake Battle was selected to compete at the National County Team Championships, at Ponds Forge in Sheffield. Stowmarket SC wants to say a massive congratulations to our own Jake Battle, the youngest in the team, who swam two individual events. Swimming PBs in both the 100m Butterfly and 100m Breaststroke. Excellent job Jake. Congratulations to the 117 swimmers who swam in the 2023 Club Championships and took part in total of 902 swims that is not including all the relay and skins races. The swimmers were amazing and everyone is so proud of the them. A huge thanks goes to the officials, volunteers and coaches for making it all possible. Qualifying times for the County Championships held in January & February 2024 have just been published, along with the order of events. For those unfamiliar with the event, the County championships are held each year at Crown pools in Ipswich and the 800m &1500m at Norwich UEA. Qualifying times for this event are set so that just the top swimmers in each age group/event are able to compete. Achieving a qualifying time is an achievement in itself.
