On a sunny Saturday in April, Stowmarket’s superstar swimmers zoomed up the A14, ready for Round 1 of the Suffolk County League in Newmarket! The competition was fierce, with brilliant swimmers from across the county diving in. Newmarket Masters Meet ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Six of Stowmarket Masters swimmers swam at Newmarket against strong opposition from all over the country. Olivia Curtin was our only winner winning gold in her 30-34 years 50 metres butterfly in a superb time of 34.24. Wiggy was Stowmarket's only reprehensive and one of only three Suffolk swimmers at the Essex Masters Meet held at Basildon on 1 st March. A New Challenge There is a new cup available for Stowmarket Masters to aim for during 2025. It is called the Masters Decathlon Cup and is based from results obtained from swimming at Masters competitions. SwimEngland count a master swimmer to be a person swimming from the age of 25 years old.
