Over the past week, Team Raddings have attended the 10th Down Syndrome Swimming & Artistic Championships in Albufeira, Portugal. The Team of Kent just pipped The ⚪️ Rose of Yorkshire to this years Inter-County Championships over the weekend. With Kent winning their first and the rose of Lancashire finishing 3rd, the result means Yorkshire retains it’s reputation for being the best county in for nurturing swimming talent across multiple decades. It is with great sadness that we learned during the weekend at the passing, on Thursday 8th September, of our dear friend and colleague Roger Perrell. Roger was made a life member of City of Wakefield Swimming Club in 2017 in recognition of his many years service to CoWSC, a club where his son Ian started his swimming journey. Roger held the position of Membership Secretary before passing the role onto Neil Barker when he eventually stepped down from the committee. Our first meet of the season ends with some great success - session one saw us standing proud as top club.
