Introduction to Hillingdon SC Performance Squads

Hillingdon SC's Performance Squads have developed from what was known as HBEST; Hillingdon Borough Elite Swim Team. The Performance Squads provide training for swimmers who have been identified by the coaching team as capable of training and competing at a high level. The structure of the squads reflects the Youth Physical Development Model for sport.

ALL Performance Squad sessions are based at Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Complex, where we have access to the 50 metre pool that was opened in 2010.

The Performance Squads provide young swimmers with the environment to develop towards their full potential as an athlete. Here, swimmers are exposed to the knowledge, skills and experiences that will help them to enjoy success at the highest level within swimming. Those in the Performance Squads are expected to view swimming as their number one activity outside of school and, as such, are expected to maintain a high attendance at both training and competitions.

Swimmers begin in the Performance Squads with our Age Group Competitive 2, before moving through to Age Group Competitive 1 and Youth Performance.

Hillingdon SC is able to boast a history of success at all levels, including County, Regional, National and International.
