It was that time of the year again - our annual splash weekend at Box End Park, Bedford! At least 60 brave swimmers and parents took the plunge into the cold depths of the Box End lakes, only to conquer the obstacle mayhem that inflated before them! We had slides to salmon down. We had poles to meander. We had inflatable planet things to quest. We had parents to pull into the water. We had it all! Bring on the next social this season!
Sprint with the Stars was back for 2023 in the London Aquatic Centre on 27th August. Stars this year include Adam Peaty, David Popovici, Anna Hopkin, Abbie Wood, Medi Harris, Sidney Pickrem, Luke Greenbank and James Guy. And for two of our swimmers, Cora and Jemima, it was a day to remember, not only did they achieve some amazing Personal Bests, they managed to stand next to their swim idols! What is Sprint with the Stars? Sprint With The Stars is a revolutionary event where grassroots swimmers have the opportunity...
Bletchley & District SC have competed another successful weekend after coming home with 28 Personal Bests, 9 gold, 5 silver, and 5 bronze medals after competing at the CMK Development Open Meet. Three swimmers enjoyed their first even open meet, and 4 swimmers won their first ever...
What an amazong night for Bletchley & District Swimming Club. For those who are new to the club who might not know this, this is the first time Bletchley & District SC made it to the Chiltern League FINAL in over 10 years! Not bad considering it's new-ish Headcoach's second stint of the Chiltern League! Facing 5 clubs who have always been at the top of the league for as long we can remember, you would have thought Bletchley had no chance. But that was not the case. With the...
Another awesome night for Bletchley & District Swimming Club at the all-important 2nd round of the Chiltern League 2023. Held at Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre, Leighton Buzzard, this 2nd round was pivotal. If they score enough points the team will move up into the top 6, and so compete in the Winner's gala in Round 3. If they don't, they will be fighting for top spot in the lower half of the league table. But there were a lot of issues that stood in the team's way; reigning champions Bourne End...
It was a great and fast evening at the Harpenden S.C. Frantic 50s Open Meet held at the Inspire: Luton 50m Long Course competitive pool. Three of our swimmers gained qualifying times to compete in what was a fast, frantic and enjoyable Saturday evening for all. Around 15 swimming clubs from across the region entered, from St.Ives SC (Cambridgeshire) in the north, right down to Reed's School SC down in Surrey, totalling around 200 swimmers in what would become a fun, frantic evening! For Guglielmo, it was his first experience...
Bletchley & District Swimming Club have hit the ground running coming a comfortable 3rd place at the first round of the Chiltern Swimming League 2023. With Head coach’s eyes set on finishing 5th or better overall, he knew this first round is key. Standing in the way of Bletchley & District, the team would first be up against the likes of last year's Champions - Bourne End SC, with tough opponents Flitwick Dolphins Swimming Club and Aylesbury & District Swimming Club. 31 swimmers represented Team Bletchley & District, our strongest...
Another great experience for our Bletchley & District Swimmers at the 2022 Flitwick Swimming Club Open Meet held at Saxon Pool, Biggleswade. Some great swimming and learning opportunities made, some were so close to getting a medal, and a couple of our swimmers gained some more County Championship Qualifying times!!! With many more open meets and galas still to come, head over to the Fixtures webpage to have a look.
1st and 2nd October brought us the weekend of the Maxwell Open Meet held at Aqua Vale Leisure Centre, Aylesbury. Possibly one of the fastest 25m (Short-course) pools in the area because it certainly helped our swimmers smash their Personal Bests. A huge well done to our swimmers on entering. And for some, it was their first every experience of entering an open meet with elite swimmers. The next Open Meet to look out for is the Putteridge, and the Linslade Open Meet held in November. Check out our fixtures...
Swimming alongside Dunstable Swimming Club, 18 of our swimmers entered the 'Duel in the Pool' where they would swim events of their choice to see if they can new Personal Bests. For some, it was their first ever experience of racing! Every swimmer achieved at least 1 Personal Best with a couple of swimmers achieving their first lot of County Qualifying times! The swimmers and parents thoroughly enjoyed the experience with many Dunstable and Bletchley Swimmers becoming new friends. The next 'DUEL IN THE POOL' is going to take place...
